XP from 3-6: What do you eat for Christmas Dinner?

I put up this poll on 3-6, but this board is always more lively, and I'm curious.

My mom always cooks both a turkey and a ham, and while I do love me some ham, for some odd reason, I never touch it on Christmas. I'm all about the turkey!

What about you ladies? Turkey? Ham? Or something else?

Let's hear it!

  • My mother used to do turkey and ham. The last few years she has been doing lasagna and manicotti. This year, however, we are having a huge seafood dinner.

  • It varies with my family Christmas.  Sometimes just ham, sometimes ham and turkey.

My family Christmas isn't until New Year's, so H and I have a meal on Christmas Day.  This year we're having steak with restaurant smashed potatoes (pioneer woman recipe) and a Mexican layered dip as an appetizer during the afternoon.  I love switching it up and making some different stuff since it is just the 2 of us usually.

  • On Christmas Eve we always have perogies and kielbasa and then on Christmas Day we have a standing beef rib roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, and yorkshire pudding.  But this year were having a turkey with all the fixings on Christmas Day since DH's company gives them each a turkey at Christmas and we don't have any freezer room to store it!

Yum, I'm starting to drool just thinking about it

  • We always have lasagna and ham on christmas day. All kinds of sides with it. On christmas eve we do a traditional Italian seafood meal with the 7 fishes (and more!) At DH's family they do Prime Rib for Christmas day and nothing special on Christmas eve.
