Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What cute new things is LO doing?

In the last week DS has done some new things that I just think are adorable:

-Went from calling us Mama and Dada to Mommy and Daddy for no apparent reason

-When you ask him how old he is now he reaches one arm up above his head and says, "Big!"  No idea where that came from!

I want to hear what new things your cuties are doing!

(we need a happy post after EM's sad loss post.  Sad)

Re: What cute new things is LO doing?

  • -Picking up his toy phone, saying "Hello" then slamming it down and saying "Bye!"

-Opening and shutting doors constantly, I'm just waiting for him to lock himself in a room.

  • We dance...a lot.  Bug has a new move she's been busting out.  She waves her arms & twists.  She only does it when you tell her to "break it down."  It's adorable.

  • When he sees the elmo on his diaper, he cracks up laughing. Like seriously dies. Can't contain himself. Funniest thing ever.

  • It is hard to explain with just words but DS has some new dance moves. He puts his hands on his hips and does this pelvic thrust thing. And he spins around while flapping his arms. It is hilarious.

He also just learned that the cow says "mooo" and the dog says "arrff" (in a super high pitch adorable voice).

  • When she see's a little baby she will point and say "baby" I think it is cute because it means she is now a big girl even more and she also waves when we leave in the morning and says "Bye" to both dog's.

  • DD will hold her nose if I ask her if she's poopy or stinky. "P-U!"

  • -DD has been recognizing animals that we didn't even know that she knew.

-She is copying everything we say, for example she sometimes calls each of us by our first names! lol

  • - Kissing every inanimate object she can get her hands on.  Sometimes she'll make the kissing noise and lip motions before even making contact.

    - Random laughing without being provoked.

    - Every time Pink's song, "Raise your glass" or whatever the title is, a big smile spreads on her face and she starts raising her shoulders up and down like she's trying to dance.  It probably helps that every time we hear that song DH and I start dancing.

  • DD is the official greeter now everytime we go to the store. Saying hi to nearly everyone and pointing out all the babies. Babies=people under 10. She now claps for about anything she likes. Sing a song- you get a clap, enter a room- you get a clap, put on a silly hat- you get a clap. You get the picture. She even clapped for Santa Claus. She also says bye now and waves even if she is just walking across the room. She surprises me everyday with the animals and animal sounds she knows. She gets the answers right on "Diego." Seriously, she's a genius. Oh, and my favorite, she goes "Roar!" to any pictures of animals showing teeth. I know I sound like an AW, but my kid is just that cute. Big Smile

  • If you say, "Monster!", she growls.

When she sees a cat, or a picture of a cat she makes a high pitch meowing noise.

She points to her nose when you say, "Where's your nose?".  She does that with her ears too.

When she drinks her milk while sitting on your lap, she picks at her belly button.

She's actually obsessed with belly buttons and likes to poke at mine when I'm lying on the floor.  She will then lean forward and give my belly button a kiss.  Yesterday she gave me a raspberry and it surprised her and she laughed.  I thought that was funny.

  • DD insists that DH and I sit alike. She will move us so that our arms, legs, feet or whatever are in the exact same position...then sit back and nod in satisfaction. Usually one of us will move again, just to see her reaction. And then she promptly looks at us in a "I can't believe you just did that" look and move us back to match agian.

She loves our remote control and likes to change the channels. Well one day, I was going out of the room and I saw her pick up the remote, while I was telling her
"not to change the channel" she threw the remote to her daddy as if to say "he did it!"

Before we leave the house she likes to gather up as many things as she can carry. I try to cut her off at 3 items and only small ones. They always are random items and really have no connection to each other at all, like a spoon, a bag, a puzzle piece..

  • DS will run up to me, make me turn on the music from a toy, run across the room and do a little "dance" where he holds his elbows near his belly and shakes his arms and shakes his head.  When the music stops he runs up to me again and repeats.

Every animal he sees, he woofs big time.

He holds animals up to us and makes us kiss them and than he kisses them.
