I know its almost Christmas Eve and I should be thinking about the upcoming weekend, but I had an odd thought so I thought I'd post it :-)
I HATE the name 'binky' for a pacifier. Not sure why...perhaps because I'm the type of person who feels the need to do the exact opposite of what is considered the norm. I'm such a rebel :-P
Anyone have another name for a pacifier???
Re: Anyone else not like calling it a 'binky'???

We call it a pinky. When DD2 was little all of her binkys were pink, so when DD1 heard as say "Binky" she thought we were saying "pinky" because of the color. So, in our house, it's a pinky.
Ive been sucked into calling it a woobie!! lol smh (wth that come from?? lol)
Haha I never knew what a binky was! I thought it was a security blanket.
Not sure what we'll call it. I want to start our child off speaking Arabic, because it will be harder to teach later, so we'll probably use whatever the word is in Arabic (I'll have to ask, it's been a while since I've been around babies and all the associated lingo).
Been away from theBump for a while, getting active again for all the good advice
My parents call a chupon. My nephews are hispanic. Not sure DS knew what they were talking about when they called it that, lol. I call it either a binky or paci.

I think you guys are talking about a "wubbie" as in a "wub a nub". Check this out https://www.amazon.com/Wubbanub-Infant-Pacifier-~-Giraffe/dp/B003CK3LDI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293210495&sr=8-1 . They help hold a pacifier in and the child can grip it. My friend swears by one, though my DD never did catch on to the pacifier idea.
My parents always called them dummies, but I prefer pacifier or soother.
this coming from England we call them Dummies to be honest I'm hoping not to use one much as Ive seen so many kids dependant on them, however I am sure I will give in and use them lots in the end. we will probably call it Dum Dum which is the shorter form commonly used or Num Num
