So we finally moved out of the dark ages (partially) and had high speed internet hooked up this morning. It is currently hooked directly into our PC. I know I need a router in order to let DH use his Ipod wirelessly. I know nothing about routers and Amazon has about 100 different ones in all price ranges. Is there something specific to look for? Are the cheap ones bad? Help me cause I am completely lost.
TIA.
Re: NTR- wireless router ?
thanks. I was looking at those on Amazon but the reviews are mixed. Glad to hear tech geek likes them.
I just went to check our router and we have a Belkin router. My mom has the same router at her house and both have worked great.
I purchased it at Walmart and have had no problems. If its something you want/need sooner than later check out Walmart or Best Buy as PP stated.
My wife asked me to answer your question. I really think a new D-Link wireless n router is the way to go. D-Link hasn't been a good brand in the past but I had some experience with a new model and it doesn't need to be restarted a lot. The new Cisco wireless routers aren't as good as they used to be. Lots of bad reviews and the support isn't as good as it once was. Here is the link to a router I would recommend: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127215
I think it comes with a disk for you to set it up so you can do the security yourself without calling someone like me to charge you a lot to do it for you. If you have any questions my wife will probably let me know and I'll help if possible.
