Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I know we have seen this a million times but...

The Los are seriously takeing 2 bites of everything i give them then throwing it on the floor all while signing more. 

I think they are bored or something.  seems only thing i can get them to eat a lot of is teddy grahms :(

We do the typicals like chicken, meat loaf, pasta etc all seem to go over ok.  They usually eat well at dinner but snack and lunch SUCK!!!

Yogurt and hummus always go over well.  Give me some other ideas that might change things up and peak thier interest.

  • in our house grilled cheese NEVER gets thrown on the floor....or avacado.  she LOVES them.

  • Ethan doesn't eat a large variety of things but he will eat boca "chicken" nuggets or patties, pb & j, grilled cheese (sometimes I sneak spinach in there), ham/turkey sandwiches on ww bread, apple sauce, yogurt, clementines, and apples.

    He will also eat pastina or stellini (sp?, the slightly larger star shaped pastas) cooked in chicken broth with peas.  I cook it until the broth is gone and sometimes add a little cheese.

    He does not eat veggies willingly but he will eat this soup I make in the crock put ( so good and healthy!):

    1/2 bag rinsed lentils 

    6 cups chicken broth

    chopped carrots, celery, onion

    1/4 cup or more minced fresh ginger

    2 or more minced cloves garlic

    1 bay leaf 

    Chicken breasts (toss in raw, 2 or 3, depending on how much chicken you want)

    Curry powder (as much as you want really, maybe 1-2 tablespoons)

    Let it cook in crock pot for about 6-8 hours, shred chicken.  Stir in fresh spinach or kale towards the end.

    Add water or more broth if it needs more.
