Would a BabyHawk be worth the $

I have a cheap Infantino Mei tei-like carrier. I love it  except it is showing obvious signs of wear after only a few months of use. I received money towards a carrier as a gift that I think I will like to use towards the BabyHawk. Do they hold up over time? Any reviews?

  • The babyhawk is definitely a superior carrier to the infantino.  How heavy is your kiddo?  While I love the BH for the under 1 crowd, I think there are comfier options for heavier kids (like 20+ pounds) - not that it wouldn't work, but rather if you plan to use it a lot, you might find something with a padded waist like a Bamberoo or Kindercarry more comfy (they are easiest to find on FSOT on thebabywearer or check their facebook pages for stocking info).  The Kozy would be another option - no padded waist but the body is bigger and more supportive than the BH.

I completely agree!  I feel like the bhawk is not padded enough for my style.

I have a motherandbebe and I love it!  The ultra padded waist makes all the difference!

  • I have not tried any other  MTs.  However, my BH still gets a LOT of use.  DD is 17 months, weighs about 30 pounds and I am just starting to reach for other carriers instead.  Previously, I ALWAYS reached for the BH, now I also use my woven and occasionally a ring sling.
  • Yes, the hold up very well! I LOVE my BH!

  • I cant say on the BH Mei tei, but I just got a BH Oh Snap (thier Soft structured carrier) and am LOVING IT. Really got us back into wearing, even at 30 weeks pregnant, with a foot thats been bugging me. I used to wrap my dd, but tried doing that pregnant and just about DIED from RLP. :( Im really recommending the Oh Snap for those heavier kiddos or older than 1 babes! Im loving it, I can see this being my go-to carrier for kids over 17lbs ish. My dd is 21 lbs and about 32-33 inches tall. At 26 months, I consider her pretty petite. It lets her snuggle in if she wants or do arms out. :)
