Pillows - Question?

When are children allowed to have a pillow to sleep with? My DD likes to lay on pillows in the living room and in our bed ( whenever shes actually in there). We have a fairly flat 1 /12` x 1 1/2` square pillow that I think would be perfect for her but not sure if its something shes supposed to have for awhile still... It's just something I don't hear about and wanted to see what your thoughts were, thanks.

Re: Pillows - Question?

  • I don't know know the exact recommendations for pillow use but I probably won't start giving Emerson a pillow until she's in a toddler bed.  The reason being is b/c she's all over her bed, she flops around so much that I think it would get in her way more than she would actually use it, plus I'd hate for her to use it to climb!  LOL

  • B has a fluffy polar bear pillow pet type thing from Target. He does fine with it, though most nights he either flips around and puts his feet on it, or shuffles down and curls his head against the edge of it. He loves to snuggle up on it when we put him down though, and he seems to go to bed better than when he did without a pillow (or with a smaller one).

  • I think they recommend it after 24 mths
  • Thank you ladys, I really had no clue when it would be "ok" for her to have one, and I haven't bothered to look it up yet. I'm sure she would roll away from it during the night if I gave her one but she does like to cuddle her fluffy puppy thats in her bed when she sleeps. I guess i'll hold off on the pillow for awhile longer.
