Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

AW: My 20 month is going on the potty!!!

She's not talking yet (only jargon), but she's going on the potty!!! My mom watches both DDs on Wednesdays overnight to Thursdays and when I talked to her yesterday, she told me DD2 went poop on the potty and has been wearing big girl underwear during the day. She's been pointing and grabbing my mom's hand and leading her into the bathroom when she has to go. She also got upset when she didn't make it into the bathroom and wet her pants. I'm so excited for her and I hope she continues to do this at home as well! Now, we just need to work on her talking. LOL.

  • That's awesome! Congrats and good luck.

We just introduced DD to the potty last week and within a month or so we'll put her in big girl underwear. Right now, the focus is getting her to sit and stay on the potty for more than a minute. I take her in with me whenever I have to go and she will sit. It's a game to her but we're keeping it fun and stress-free.

  • That's awesome!  DD doesn't talk much yet either, so we've been using signs.  She usually just goes into the bathroom and points to the toilet or grabs the toilet seat and brings it to us.

  • Hmmm...here I thought DD was on the younger end of potty training, but the three of you have even younger DC using/trying the potty. LOL! Well, she's earlier than my older DD anyway. And, WOW, 10 months- that's great! Good luck!
