Have you started snoring?

Recently I have been told by my DH that I have started snoring pretty loudly when I am sleeping. I know it's pregnancy related but I feel so bad because it is so bad that he has been sleeping on the couch. He tells me not to worry about it and that it's fine but I feel bad anyway.

 Anybody else dealing with this?

Re: Have you started snoring?

  • DH said that I have been. Our policy is that when the other snores, the non-snorer calls the person's name, jostles them a bit if needed, and gently tells them to roll over or change positions. Moving usually clears the snoring right up!
  • Oh totally!!! LOL! I NEVER snored before I got pregnant.  My poor DH wakes me up and rolls me over several times a night! He even says I snore on my side now! Can't help it :)

  • LOL OMG I have done that too!!!  DH thinks its soooo funny but he says its getting annoying.  He says he can sleep just fine as long as he falls asleep b4 me.

  • Oh - here's a tip, sleep with two pillows and keep your head elevated, he seems to think it helps.
  • He says he tries to move me but I am so dead asleep it doesn't help. I think he actually prefers to sleep on the couch sometimes, Before we met, he never slept in his bed. He only slept on the couch so he is used to it.

  • I have turned into a total BEAR! I snore so loud I have woken myself up a few times...I feel bad : BF usually just gives me a nudge and I stop. I feel really bad since we are going out of town to my moms for x-mas. My mom snores loud, her dog snores and I snore...needless to say he gets a little crabby from lack of sleep. I tell him to get used to it babies coming soon! lol!

  • I never snored before I got pg, so I figured it would go away after the baby was born!  No!  Now if I sleep on my back (i'm only 7 wks with #2) I snore.  So lame!

  • I started snoring loudly at about 35 weeks.  Poor DH has gone out to the couch to sleep a few times.
  • YES! It's gotten pretty ridiculous. As in, I wake myself up and my first thought is "WTH is that??"

My H, on the other hand, thinks it's a good idea to wake me up and tell me I'm snoring. Hmm And I care because?? I just got comfortable and finally fell asleep, and you wake me up for that? Put some earplugs in...

  • YES!!!  Apparently it's really bad.  I never made a peep before I got pregnant.  I have a stuffy nose right now, too so I'm sure that doesn't help.  DH sleeps really lightly so I know I've been driving him nuts.  I feel so bad that I have been sleeping on the couch some nights.  Apparently last night I was talking in my sleep, too.  Good times!!

My DH says he has to "hit" me several times a night to get me to stop. Embarrassed

  • Yes. I keep finding my husband in the guest room in the morning. The loud snoring coupled with the hot flashes is driving him to the next room!

  • Yep. I've been congested for the last few months and wake myself up snoring sometimes. I never snored pre-pregnancy so I'm blaming the runny nose causing me to breathe through my mouth and snore now.

  • Yes! I never snored pre-pregnancy... I think it is caused by my congestion, I have put a humidifer in the room next to my side of the bed to help with the dry air which seems to then allow me to breathe through my nose rather than mouth.  DH will usually nudge me if he wakes up from it, its a little funny but I feel bad that it is waking him up once in a while.  Hope it goes away when the baby arrives!

  • My God YES!!!!

My poor husband.  I feel terrible for him because he has been on the couch almost every night.  I also have had a nasty cold for the last two weeks so it's been 100xs worse.  I wake myself up sometimes it's so bad...  My sweet and understanding husband has to deal with me snoring like a bear and our dog at the foot of the bed having chase dreams.  ( He dreams he's chasing something and his legs are going in reality while he's also growling)
