I have heard that during the day you should keep your lights on and noise level the same to teach LO the difference between night and day. Fine. But at what time should I start to do this? 7am? 11am? Then when should I put her to sleep in the dark so she knows it's 'bedtime'? I just don't know how much daytime she should be exposed to. At night she has been sleeping in her car seat, in the dark, with a white noise machine. Sometimes we do that during the day too, like 3:30pm. She doesn't sleep very well out in the light with the tv on.
Also, she had a cold so the doctor suggested having her sleep in her car seat. So we tried it and she loved it! Her cold is done. So since then that is where she has been sleeping and napping. Should I stop having her sleep there and just put her in her crib (which she has never been in yet)? Before the car seat she slept in her bassinet. I think she likes how cozy the car seat is. We had swaddled her with the Halo swaddlers before and laid her in the bassinet but she always fought and got her hands up out of it anways no matter how tight we made it.
Re: Sleep questions
this works for me https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3739296&CAWELAID=405207590
yep we have that
My son also sleeps in his car seat at night - I think he also likes the coziness of it.
I transition him to his crib after his 3 am feeding. He usually only sleeps 2 - 3 hrs in his crib because I think he startles himself awake with flailing arms.
I also put him in his crib during the day for 1 of his naps. Before putting him in his crib all the time, I want to let him get used to the idea of a big bed/space without it being too much of a shock so we're doing baby steps.
