Diaper pail help!!

Is there a way to keep your diaper pail fresh?? We have the Diaper Genie and our DD's poops are lethal lol.  Right now we have a baby fresh scent tree car air freshener in there!

  • Throw it away. Get a small garbage can, buy some Sassy Baby Powder Scented bags and dispose of the garbage in LO's room daily. That's what we ended up doing. The diaper genie was great until he started eating all real food.

  • I dump everything in the toilet and then throw the diaper in the Diaper Genie.  That seems to help.  If there's any smell I'll empty it whether it's full or not.
  • There is a stick up thing by Arm and Hammer for the fridge that we stick on the lid of ours and it helps. I also spray with Lysol some.

    I need to do this.

  • chunk it & get a reuglar small trash can with scented trash bags & take it out daily!

  • I switched from the Diaper Champ to the Arm and Hammer diaper pail and it is fantastic. I've had it for about 6 months now and it does not smell! We change the bag twice a week and no stink whatsoever.
  • We have no issues with our diaper genie but you can try dumping the poop(if it's hard lol) in the toilet first.

This is what we do basically.  Any poopy diapers that I can't flush I wrap in a Sassy diaper sack and take right out to the garage.  I also have a box of baking soda in the bottom of the can, and I will dump baking soda in the bottom and soak in hot water to clean it.

I do the same thing. Lately I've been buying the Diaper Genie "knockoff" refills from Walmart, they are cheaper, and I feel like they last longer than the Diaper Genie brand refill.
