So apparently CPSC is banning drop side cribs

We have one from our first baby and I'd planned to re-use the crib. We have the extra parts from the manufacturer that prevents the drop side from dropping or pulling away, but it still makes me nervous.
If you were planning to re-use your drop side crib what will you do now?

LOL, can you paint it to match?
We are looking to see if the company that made ours has a kit to stabalize the side, if not we might just convert it into the toddler bed and buy a new crib.
My crib does not have a kit to 'fix' it so, my husband and his friend are going to take a drill, a screw and a few washers and fix it themselves. I figure if one side has screws in it, the drop down side can too. Honestly, it just looks like we'll have to drill in a hole on each side, but the screw in and a washer and some other type of hardware to affix it. I'll be happy to post a pic and directions of what we did (when we finally get around to fixing it.. we have a while).

Lurking from 3rd tri...
I had a drop-side crib from when my son was born almost 6 years ago. It was recalled for the drop-side issue. I got it from Walmart so I printed the recall notice and called their 1800 number. They told me to bring the notice and the crib to walmart for a full refund. I brought it in that day and they took the crib and handed me a gift card for the original retail price plus tax. I then turned around and bought a brand new, stationary, convertible crib using the gift card.
I have heard Target will do the same if you have the recall notice (they are available online, just google 'crib recall' and the brand of your old crib and see what pops up).
I plan on reusing our drop side crib. My understanding is that they have banned the MANUFACTURING and SALE of these cribs, not the use of them. It's at the parent's discretion if they choose to use them. We'll double check all the mechanisms before this baby is born, but I have no plans on shelling out more $$ to replace the crib for our (probably) last child.
On top of that, we bought this crib from friends who used it with all 4 of their kids with no problems and we had NO issues with DS. So I'm comfortable with it.
