Amazon Prime FAIL. (update)

I placed an order w/ Amazon on the 17th, selected 2day Prime shipping, got the confirmation with the delivery estimate of Dec. 20th.  It shipped from KY on the 17th.  It's now the 21st and my package is in ... OK.  Um, what?  KY is a heck of a lot closer to WV than OK is!  What in the world!?

  • Doh!

Is it bad that I think naughty thoughts when you type out KY?  I'm a middle schooler, apparently.

  • Bummer!!

I used to work somewhere that shipped with UPS all the time. Sometimes we had really important overnight or 2 day shipments. For some reason, the ground shipments never went awry, but we had a big mess up or two where really important irreplaceable packages ended up across the country. I always just tried to remember that the things are sorted by people, and we all make mistakes every once in a while. FYI, if you notify the sender, they can get a refund, and though you didn't pay for shipping, at least someone will benefit. Maybe they will do something nice for you...

Yeah, that's what I did.  It's not a Christmas present or anything so I'm not real hung up on the timing.  I just did Prime since I could.  But, I figured Amazon would want to know so I shot them an email.  We ship free at the uni with two different carriers (mostly textbooks) and, while the students aren't paying for it, we are.  So it's nice to get a heads up when something goes wonky.

  • I ordered some stuff for C.  Most came except one book.  Apparently, it is not available until the 28th!  doh!  I don't know how I missed that.  I doubt it was even mentioned though... lol

That really sucks!  When I tried to order something last week that wouldn't be available before Christmas there was this big "WARNING!  THIS ITEM WILL NOT ARRIVE BY DEC. 25th!" thing going on.  So, I bet it wasn't mentioned.  You'd have noticed that. lol

  • Well, they redeemed themselves. lol  They responded to my email to say that my package is apparently lost in transit and they're over-nighting me a new one.  So maybe a Prime FAIL but a CS WIN!
