So my Dr decided last week for me to go into surgery and get my 16cm cyst removed since it keeps getting bigger. To be honest - I do not want the surgery or undergo anethesia. However - they recommend that I have it removed. I go in at 3:00 p.m. today for the surgery and have to stay over night at the hospital. I am so nervous for my baby. I know that I am only going to be under for 30 minutes so that made me feel relieved.
Has anyone else had a cyst removed while pregnant? How did it go?
Re: Going in for surgery today for the cyst - very nervous
I haven't had a cyst removed. Just wanted to let you know you are in my T&Ps
I'm sure everything will go smoothly- all the best!
I didn't have a cyst removed, but I had to have emergency surgery (under general) when I was in my 2nd tri with DS. He did wonderfully.....the anesthesia is no big deal to the baby once in the 2nd and 3rd tri. He has had absolutely no effects from the surgery or any of the pain meds, etc I had to take and is a healthy happy almost 2 year old.
It is SO scary to have to go through this when you are pg, but it will be fine.
I haven't had a cyst surgery either, but I did have a transabominal cerclage placed in pregnancy around 11 weeks under general anesthesia. It was a long c-section cut and the surgeon moved and touched my pregnant uterus with my baby inside to put the band around my cervix.
It's so scary, but you will do great!!!!!!
