Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Had an "altercation" over the weekend.

Yesterday I had to make a quick trip to the grocery store.  The place was packed, so I drove around for a few minutes looking for a spot.  I finally saw someone getting ready to leave so I did the standard parking etiquette of turning on my turn signal and waiting for the person to back out.

The person backs out and around that same time, a car pulls up and moves like it's going to take the spot.  I'm quicker so I pull in to the spot that I had dibs on.

The dude in the car goes ballistic.  He starts laying on his horn and yelling at me.  He finally moves on.

I'm in the store and the dude tracks me down.  He walks up to me and starts yelling at me for stealing his spot and how I'm going to hell.

His wife is standing behind him and looks absolutely mortified.  They're wearing nice clothes and since it was Sunday, I assumed they'd just come from church.

So I ask him, "Did you just come from church?"

He pauses for a minute and says, "Yes.  Why does that matter?"

I said, "Your behavior? That's not what Jesus would do.  Merry Christmas!" and I walked away.  His wife smiled and gave me the "thumbs up" sign.

  • Awesome! How ridiculous to behave that way over something as petty as a parking spot.

This quote baffles me.  Do we expect people who go to church to be perfect and not make mistakes??

I go to church and I make mistakes every day - doesn't mean I'm any worse than someone who doesn't go to church and makes mistakes

This. I feel like church makes me feel less guilty about all the mistakes I made the past week, but it doesn't really change anything when I make a mistake. It's not like I say to myself "oh boy, I went to church on Sunday, so I better not lose my temper with _______. That'll just look awful!"

  • Um, you had your blinker on....definitely your spot, he should have known that.

I would have told him to suck it, given him the bird and walked on. Pr!ck.

  • What is wrong with people? And seriously, I think that wife needs a reality check. I would NEVER stand by while my husband yelled at another woman over a parking spot.

Good for you for speaking up to him. What a d-bag.
