safety gates

in Babies: 9 - 12 Months
We are moving in Feb to a new house. I know for sure I need 4 gates. 3 gates are for Top of stairs and one is for bottom of stairs. Which gates do you have for use at the top of steps. I also dont want to ruin the banisters and woodwork. So I dont want to drill into them. I know that they need to mounted to use them at the top of steps but what else can I do. TIA
