I have to put it in their mouths. They are 9 months, and just got over the gagging. Now they can and will eat anything but wont pick it up off the tray and put it in their mouths.. I have to it for them. I dont get it, they put EVERYTHING else in their mouths.

I wouldn't worry too  much about it.  DS did that for the longest time.  Now he is totally into feeding himself.

I think that is completely normal every baby does it at different times just like crawling, walking, etc.
