TTC After a Loss

Are higher post-O temps necessarily better?

I was just wondering if post-O temperatures, and how much over the coverline the temps are, make a difference at all regarding the likelihood of pregnancy? I tried googling it, but only found information about the length of elevated temps and pregnancy. TIA - I hope this isn't an inappropriate question to ask here. If it is, I'll delete it. Thanks again.

  • I don't think how high it is makes a real difference. Not from what I've heard.

  • I always thought the higher your temps the more progesterone you had. So if you had lower temps your progesterone was lower. I could be TOTALLY wrong though.

  • I found this:

Q: Will taking progesterone raise my BBTs?

A: It may raise your BBTs, but natural progesterone usually only causes a minor elevation (.1 or .2). Progestins like Provera can raise BBTs as well.

    This is from https://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/bbt/bbtfaq.html

I can't find anything saying specifically that the more progesterone you have, the higher your post-O temps will be, but it makes sense based on what I've read. Basically, the temp rise after O is caused by an increase in Progesterone. Pre O, Progesterone is low, and after O, it's high - therefore the temp jump. So it would make sense that higher P = higher temps..but I can't find anything specifically saying that..

    Thanks :)
