I went to the hospital yesterday with bleeding ( I am 25 weeks) they determined it was partial Previa. I can't work this week and go to see my doc Wednesday for follow-up. Then another ultra-sound in 3 weeks to see if it has gotten any better. Has anyone been thru this, this far along in pregnancy? If so, did it get better? I am so worried it will get worse. I could not find much on the subject later on in pregnancy. Thank you!!
Re: Placenta Previa??
First and foremost, it cannot get worse. My OB repeated that to me several times. It can stay the same, or more likely correct, but it cannot worsen. So don't waste time worrying about that.
I was dx w/ previa around 8 weeks, and by 21 it had corrected. In the meantime, I was put on full pelvic rest, partial bed-rest, and lifting restrictions (nothing over 20 lbs). Your doctor will have their suggested course of action for you, and it's important to follow those instructions.
Should the previa not correct on its own, they will schedule you for a c-section. While that may not be the birth plan you were hoping for, there is every reason to think you and baby will come out of this whole thing just fine.
For now, take it easy. Stay off your feet. Nothing in the vaginal canal until you see your doctor. And try not to freak out - this is actually pretty common and in most cases, not something that presents later issues.
