    idk I guess, I just send the bottle to the sitter and when I was cleaning it I saw it in there and I wondered what it was because I was going to take  it out but I was afraid it was important, we usually use the medela or avent bottles

    Ok. I only used the disc when I wanted to close the bottle so I could shake up the formula, or keep the formula sealed in the bottle. But if you don't need it for that, then it isn't necessary.

    ditto this- or I leave it in when I'm heating the bottle up so no water gets in through the vent in the nipple
