Horrific news: Teacher suffers a MC trying to stop a fight

I heard about this on the radio last Wednesday and I couldn't believe it. As a teacher myself, I have tried to stop fights and intervene.   I learned NEVER to get involved in ANY kind of fight.

If and when I get PG, you better believe my baby isn't going near ANY fight.  I don't even want to walk in the crowded hallways in between periods.

  • That is redic. I would probably press charges if I were the teacher. Over a stupid chair...
  • Loading the player...
  • That's so incredibly sad.  Losing something so precious over something so senseless like a stupid seat...

Yes it is my longest, I didn't O till cd 31 or something like that.  I will test next Fri. and wish I had those new more sensitive hpt's everyone else has now.  Are you testing using cheapies or digi's?  Good luck when you test next.

  • i saw this last week and thought how sad that is- this is the reason why i will not be going near any of our psych kids in the ER when i get PG again as it has been proven that i cannot press charges-

  • That's awful. I've seen fights as a teacher, too. I'll call for a male teacher or security guard but I have never and will never try to break up a fight myself.

  • Hadn't heard about that, but, awful......  I had an early m/c at school, too -- I was walking down the hallway bringing my students to lunch, and there was water on the floor from kids' boots. We have a VERY slick floor because they use cheap wax that beads up and sits on top, especially when it is wet, and my feet went right out from under me.  I landed on my back and had a sharp pain.  It may have been a coincidence; I don't know - but I started bleeding at about the same time, because when I used the bathroom, there was blood.  It happened fast.  I did fill out an incident report for workman's comp, but nothing ever came out of it - our hallways are still as slick as ever, and downright dangerous on snowy days.

I would never step between two kids - that is insane.  I use my voice to get them under control when they are fighting!  (I've had a few fights that I've had to break up, but never had to get close enough to touch or be touched)
