  • If you've read the book then that's probably good enough.  My pedi said she'd never heard the name before but she completely agrees with the concept (and encourages it even).

  • We love BLW and found the book super helpful, and also posts on here.

Just try to relax about gagging and remember it is normal.  It's scary, but as long as your LO is making sounds, he is okay.  Good luck and have fun with it!

  • Oh, and I didn't tell my pedi, I just told her we were offering him fruits and veggies, and didn't elaborate.  We didn't have a standard pedi until last month, and I felt comfortable with my decision, so I didn't think it was necessary to talk about it.Stick out tongue

  • Don't let the gagging stress you out too much.  And if it does, don't feel bad about trying purees or something different.

My pedi hadn't heard of it but after I told her about it, she did her own research and then at my 6 month appointment said that she's fully supportive of it.

  • Have fun!

We just told the pedi that "yes" we had started on solid foods. :)
