I'm usually over on the TTC board, but wanted to ask you ladies a question about what kinds of test are done by your doctor when having trouble getting pregnant. I've been keeping track of my cycles for about 18 months now and have been actively ttc for just over a year with no luck. I finally made an appointment to see my doctor next month. However, my husband is REALLY frugal and doesn't think it's necessary yet. What tests will we be looking forward to and are they pricey? At the end of the day he's just going to have to suck it up, but I'd like a heads up.

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Your best bet is just to go to the doc and ask. Be up front that cost is a big factor for you at this point. (It's nothing to be embarrassed about. I hope you won't need treatment, but if you're just starting to think about it, it might be a longer and more expensive road than you expect.) Your doctor should be able to tell you what it would cost for you to run day 3 blood work, 7dpo blood work, a semen analysis on your hubby, and maybe a HSG or SHG on you. Keep in mind that although they may be cheaper through your gynecologist, if you get sent to a reproductive endocrinologist you may have to re-do everything anyway.
Best of luck!
