I need advice... sick baby

Poor DD!  She's at home with DH because she's sick at home w a fever & what we thought was a nasty cold.  We took her into after hours care lastnight & they said it's just a virus.  Well DH just told me DD has now vomited.  Poor baby! 

I'm going to get Pedialite on the way home but I won't be leaving work till 4pm EST.  Should I tell DH to continue to give her the normal food & formula (but bland) until then?  He doesn't want to leave in case she gets sick again.

As long as she is drinking and wetting diapers she should be fine and there is no rush on the pedialyte. I have never used it myself because even when DD was sick, she still drank a lot.

I would wait on giving her any food, see if she can hold down a small amount of formula for an hour or so and then give a bit more.  If she is ok with formula you can probably give a small amount of food.  If she can't keep the formula down at all I would get the pedialite sooner.  Can you call your pedi for suggestions?

If it got that bad I'd just leave work to get it.

No food!  Just 2-3 oz at a time.  Do you guys have any gatoraide or poweraide that he can give her?  When you do get the pedialyte get the unflavored and mix with formula.  My LO won't take it straight up so we do 1 oz pedialyte and 2 oz formula every few hours until the vomiting has stopped.

I had to take DD to the doctor yesterday because she had a nasty cough and was super congested.  They said it was just a cold.  When she woke up this morning she had a temp. of 103 so back to the doctor we went.  Now dr. thinks it's the flu.  She gags on the drainage in her throat and it caused her to vomit a few minutes ago. 

I just realized you're in brandon.  That's 30 minutes up the road.  I guess it's going around.

Boy is it EVER!  Everyone in my job is coughing & I'm sure the daycare is filled with it all too.  I was wondering if mine was the flu last week.  DD & I both got the flu shot so I'm not sure if we'll ever know for sure.  They say getting the flu shot won't necessarily prevent it.  Might just make the symptoms a little lighter on you.

I'm in Riverview!  Are we sure our babies haven't been sneeking out at night for a party?!!
