Baby Names

Opinions On Names Please!!

So I really like names that aren't TOO common. I don't want something that is extremely out there and hard to pronounce/spell either though. We don't know what we are having, but these are the top names we've come up with so far.

Boys: Beckham, Madden, Weston, Greyson, Cohen

Girls: Harlow, Kenna, Kenley, Scarlett, Quinn

I would love your HONEST opinion, I'd rather hear it now than after I've named the kid. I'm also open to other suggestions!

  • I like Madden, Weston, Greyson and Harlow, Kenna is Ok

  • I like Cohen, Scarlett and Quinn.

Madden makes me think of John Madden.  Beckham plays soccer and married a Spice Girl.  Kenna sounds like you messed up and forgot to put the Mac ahead of it.

  • I like Scarlett......................and none of the others. You are dating your kid by using these TRENDY names.

All , even Scarlett, are VERY COMMON!

  • It seems like you like last names for first names.

Of your boys choices, I prefer Weston or Greyson. If you do Beckham- I'd think you were a fan of David Beckham and Madden & Cohen sound too much like last names.

Harlow comes up on this board A LOT, as does Scarlett and Quinn. Of your choices, I prefer Quinn.

Kenley - this one is ok

Scarlett - i really dislike this name

Quinn - I love this name....though we had it picked out for a boy

  • I really like Beckham and Cohen, though I realize there is controversy surrounding that name

As far as the girl names go, I like Harlow and Kenley. Very cute :)

    Ick! to all

    This!

  • I like Weston and Scarlett.

My nephew was born on Tuesday and his name is Cohen but I'm not a fan of it. I don't care for Beckham, Madden, Greyson, Harlow, Kenley, or Quinn. Honestly, they're all WAY too trendy and Hollywood-influenced. Kenna is ok.

  • I like Harlow and Weston a little. I dislike all the others. I want to like Scarlett but it has the word Scar in it and I just can't.

    Other random suggestions:

Boys: Kai, Wesley, Spencer, Jonah, Connary, Kellen, Seamus

Girls: Brenna, Lucia, Corina, Sonia, Shannon, Kate, Penelope

  • I vote Weston and Quinn :)
  •  Weston, Scarlett, and Quinn are the ones of yours I like.  I really really dislike Harlow, but mostly because it is similar to my maiden name and is also the last name of someone I do not like.  And it is very weird/unfeminine IMO

I'm not a fan of any of your girl names.

  • Love them all accept Scarlett:) I'm a big fan of trendy/
  • I love them all too, but I like "last names as first names"...the only one I have a suggestion for is Kenna. I think it needs the 'Ma' or 'Mc' in front of it :)
  • I love Madden and Quinn!

  • Weston, Grayson, Scarlett and Quinn are fine.
  • Beckham- You can't be serious with this.  Waaayyyyy to tied to "The" Beckhams.  Not cool. Madden- with the Maddy/Madelyn/Madison trend completely out of control for girls, I would think this would be a bad choice for a boy.  Guaranteed some fool will spell it "Maddyn" and it'll be the top choice for a Maddy name...for a girl.  Plus, there's the off-roading video game connection. Weston- it's alright, definitely the most tolerable of your boy name options Greyson- you said you didn't want something too common...this is *very* common.  And, I've met a few little girls named "Gracyn"  :::shudders::: Cohen- honestly, this is just disrespectful.  Whenever I hear of someone using this name though (which, btw, is with relative frequency), I do give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are just ignorant.Harlow-  Harlot?   Kenna, Kenley- Are these even names?  If so...they shouldn't be.   Scarlett- is lovely Quinn- meh.  Not terrible. Overall, I have to say that your choices are trendy and seem very obviously celeb inspired.  Not what I tend to go for in names, but if that's your style then, well, you've nailed it. Not trying to be mean, but you did say honest, so I removed the filter ;-)   Good luck in finding the right name, it is hard.
