I read on kellycloset.com that you can use plain old Tide with Cloth Diapers. Is that true? If so, can I use HE Tide? I have a front loading washing machine.
I use 1 tbs of regular powdered tide original in my HE machine since I can't buy the HE tide here. No problems and really cuts the stinkies, if you can stand the smell of tide!

I have an HE machine and I use the original powder Tide. I was using RG and Tiny Bubbles but I was running low so I thought I'd try Tide. I like it - fantastic cleaning power - but after I put a scoop in the machine I always feel like the powder is up my nose....it has a very strong smell!
I have used regular Tide from the start. I figured I would buy fancy CD detergent if the Tide wasn't working for us. So far, so good. We have really really really hard water here so I probably should be using the liquid but I use the powder. The diapers get very clean but I do get a little stink after about a month that I take care of with a little bleach.
