and I'm thinking we have two totally different meanings of the word.
To me, lethargic means (for a baby) she has trouble holding her head up, she's limp, etc. DH says "She's just not her bubbly self." I texted him, since he has her, if he is truly concerned that he feels something is "not right" then take her to the pedi, they have our insurance card on file and see what's up. But our pedi's office doesn't really do the indepth "House" analysis to find out why a child isn't bubbly. I asked if she had a fever and he said no.
Likely he's taken her to daycare and he's on his way to work. I'll call the daycare and let them know to keep an eye on her. :Huge eyeroll to daycare: Lately they don't change her as often as they used to and she comes home with poopy clothes to be washed.
Not really sure what else to do at this point but have the teachers monitor her. Suggestions? We know she's had diarrhea and we've taken milk out of her diet and put formula back in. She's staying hydrated and we change her more frequently to help her diaper rash get cleared up. What else am I not thinking of? We think she's teething and we have the tylenol and oragel in her bag.
Anyone else's LO's feel this way and it turned out to be something other than the usual?
Re: DH says Emma is lethargic
Oh you can bet I was mad as he!l when I saw how bad her diaper rash was last week. I kept her home from daycare on Friday and Monday because I am far less trusting now in their abilities to take care of my daughter. So when I go to get her, I pack her bag up, pick up Emma and walk out. They could still be talking about what great day she had....don't even want to hear it. It's the same song and dance no matter what day it is. I'll take it from here and clean her up when I get home.
For the daycare, we're kinda stuck. I'm just riding out my time for that class till Emma moves up to the next one.
For the lethargic stuff, I'm not sure she really is. She was tossing a lot in bed with us before DH moved her to her crib. He said she was sleepy this morning and not bubbly. Other than checking her temp, I'll see how she feels throughout the day when I call the daycare.
Sounds to me like it's all related to teething. Even the diaper rash can be related to teething, although I feel your pain on the diaper change situation. Teething babies tend to have more acidic poop which can lead to diaper rash.
I'd keep an eye on her, but between her losing sleep, teething pain and the diarrhea, it's no wonder she's not her usual self. If she runs a fever (any fever, don't assume the fever is from teething) I'd take her in to see the doctor.
