My UO

I HATE HATE HATE (yes, I feel that strongly) when people say "conversate" or any variation of the word. The appropriate word is "converse" or "conversing".

Re: My UO

  • That's REALLY strange, and I have no clue why anyone would say it. It would bug me too.

  • I was lurking on another board and saw it. And I hear people say it IRL way too often. Educated people that should know better. I also hear "orientated" (As in a patient is alert and orientated x3). Oriented would be correct. It makes me cringe every time but I would never correct someone (especially because it's always my superiors or nurses during clinical rotations).

  • That's funny. Just today my coworkers and I were dicussing words people say that drive us crazy.
  • Have you heard the word "Opinionated?" As in "He opinionated that I was right." I have caught a few friends using that and it drives me crazy.
