Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-in!

  • Today was a rough day. I went in for my monitoring appt to find no follicle growth and my estrogen went down a bit from Mon. I had to up my dose and fully anticipate stimming into next week. Then, DD's cough suddenly turned bad - she was choking on mucus. I had to use the bulb suction and we rushed to the ER. Not RSV, but still a virus. We came home with a nebulizer. Fortunately, DH happened to have the day off. How much longer til Friday?

  • I wish I had better news to report. Apparently my echo is okay, but I am spilling proteins to the point where he is concerned. I have to do another 24 hour catch tomorrow, and I have an NST and a growth u/s Friday. And a bunch of bloodwork Friday as well. My blood pressure is up, but only the top number, and he said that if he ups my labetalol anymore, the bottom number will drop (its already at 70) and that would cause more trouble than its worth.

He pretty much told me there's no chance of making it 40 weeks, and he said he would do cartwheels if I made it to 37, but he really tried to prep me for this week or next week. :-/

  • I had my first trip to l&d on friday.  I started procardia last night, in hopes of calming all of the cramping I've had.

I go to the dr tomorrow for my month date with the vag cam to check my cervical length.  I also have my glucose test tomorrow.  I'm praying I don't toss my cookies-I just about did when I had it done with dd!

I also have a growth ultrasound.  It will be nice to see her, even if she's been a stinker for the past 2 weeks!

  • Shannon- Sorry about your rough day.

Heather- Sorry about the pre-e. It's such a b!tch to deal with.

I have my first 24-hour catch tomorrow. I was dx'ed with PIH 2 weeks ago. Let's all hope that tomorrow's appointment goes well. I hope the baby is measuring a bit bigger than last appointment.

  • doing good here. Had our 20 week u/s and baby was uncooperative. Took 3 people to get half way decent pics of the heart. My dr. still wants to retake the pics at my 24 weeks u/s just as a precaution. At my appointment last week my bp was 107/76! Yea! Still looking good. However, I'm hesitant to be too excited b/c w/ ds#2 my bp didn't become an issue until 26 weeks or so. So hopefully in the coming weeks it will prove to stay stable and we'll have a normal pg this time around. The nurse scheduled my u/s for 39 weeks so i have to discuss this w/ my dr. at my next appointment b/c i didn't think he wanted me to go that long due to the increased risk of getting pre-e again. I was under the understanding I would deliver at 37-38 weeks depending on how I was doing.

  • Wow, you ladies have a lot going on!  Shannon, I'm hoping things get better for you and your family from here on out.  On the bright side..having that nebulizer is a dream.  Worked wonders for Parker.

I'm praying for the other ladies who are trying to hang onto their babies just a little longer...

As for us...  The NT scan went great.  The fold was measuring within normal limits, and I haven't gotten a call about the bloodwork (they only call if there is a problem)...so, I'm assuming everything is a.o.k.  We have an appt. with the OB tonight, so I'll ask just to be sure, but I'm feeling real good about it all.  Our next hurdle is to begin the P17 shots.  We are scheduled to begin them on January 7th, and DH is going to learn how to administer them so we don't have to go to the doc each week.

I'm gearing up for an airplane trip at the end of the month and I'm a little nervous to be flying 1) pregnant and 2) with a toddler.  Wish us luck!  Any tips from you veterans for travel?  TIA.

Lots of bribes :) We bring a DVD player and movies along with snacks up the wazoo. E's favorites are fruit cheerios, jelly beans, suckers, reese's pieces (we just try to keep her happy). Lots of changes of clothes and extra diapers. GL!

  • shannon - just keep stimming, just keep stimming, stimming, stimming, stimming. (ala dori in finding nemo) Smile i have my fingers crossed and am keeping you in my Ts&Ps.

ijack - seriously, that is the cutest picture ever of E. what a doll! and i agree - the time between BFP and the first u/s feels like 100 years.

heather - hang in there, we're all thinking of you!!

i'm doing well. no more bleeding since last week. i have the stomach flu, and even vomiting didn't start it, so that was good! our anatomy scan is on monday! i can't wait to see my pumpkin again and have confirmation of the gender!

  • Wow, so much going on!  T&P's for all of you, hoping you can hold onto those babies as long as possible!  And thinking of you too Shannon, I see you around TTGP as well and have been keeping up.

Not much new here, still waiting to O.  Fingers crossed it should be this weekend.  I've started temping, but I'm not sure how good it will be since I'm often up at night and early in the morning.  Just trying to do everything I can.  I'd share my chart but there isn't much to see yet :)

Thanks for the tips!  We have the portable DVD player on the list to take, along with lots of his favorite snacks, so it sounds like I've got a good game plan.  I'm guessing he'll be all excited to be on a plane, but I bet he'll get a little scared.  Any tips for what to do with the ear popping?

  • Tomorrow I am 35/35!!!!

The growth ultrasound went really well today. Adrienne is measuring 5lbs 3 oz! She was moving around like crazy and "practicing breathing," which was really neat to see, since Charden didn't get much time to practice in utero. My bp was super low at 98/57. I scheduled my c-section too! January 14th at noon.... 29 days away. I can't believe it.  This pregnancy has been what I have always wanted in a pregnancy, and after almost dying with HELLP the first time around, it is very exciting that I might actually make it to that "normal" birth experience.

Emma sucks her thumb so I usually have her stick that in her mouth. A sucker or straw sippy works well too :)
