DD will be 6 months old on Friday and she still doesn't sit up unassisted for more than a couple seconds. Anyone else?? And I don't think it's that she can't...but more like she won't! She's too active and won't sit still long enough to really sit up by herself. After just a few seconds she's trying t launch herself onto her belly or back to get her toys.
I know every kid is different and I'm not at all worried about her. Just curious if anyone else's LO refuses to sit?
Re: DD still not sitting up unassisted
As told to me by our region's Public Health Nurse (they do the well-baby visits): when they measure in regards to developmental milestones sitting up unassisted, they are checking to see if the baby can sit up on their own without support (when propped there) for around 6 seconds.
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. As long as you know your baby could sit, then it's fine. Your LO just wants to play!
