Im new to the Boards, so ill start with an introduction.
I am 25 years old with PCOS. My DH and I have been TTC since April 2010. We were able to start with the fertility specialist by June since the PCOS condition. They started me on 50 mgs of clomid, nothing, then 100 mgs and we got pregnant in July. However, we miscarried by the 7 week U/S... nothing was there.
I was able to go through the miscarriage without having to do a D&E. We decided to keep trying... another 100mgs of clomid, nothing, 150 mgs nothing, then 200mgs got one follicle and did our first IUI, unfortunately, nothing.
we then decided to move to the next step and start using injections (which i still cant believe people can afford to do these, they are so expensive with our co-pay) so our first round of injections, we had 2 good follicles and 2 possible follicles, went in for another IUI, unsuccessful. We had to take a week long break before we could start another round of injections since i had too many cysts when they did a baseline U/S. So we just finished stimming for 10 days (Menopur) and is 4 days past IUI, and Christmas day will be my two week mark... hoping for a Christmas miracle, but scared it wont happen.
we feel like nothing is working and the end is near. of course the next step is IVF, but its extremely expensive and the chances of success are still only 40%. Just wondering if there are others on the same page and hopefully some success stories in your situation to give me hope with mine. ![]()
Re: Hopeful...
Hello and I'm sorry that you've had to come to this board. Although, I haven't gone through your experience personally, I was there with my friend during her experience.
She did IUI about 3-4 times to no success. Her husband and she decided to go the IVF route and are now 18 weeks pregnant with a little girl. Yes, it's extensive and expensive but there is hope. Never lose hope! I wish you the best.

Thanks for the reply. Were they able to get pregnant on their first try of IVF or did they have to do it more than once?
yeah its difficult to talk to my friends about this since they are not where we are. most of my friends are single, and only one is married. Children arent in any of my friends near future either. so i feel like i dont have anyone to talk to about this... who went through or is going through the same thing whether it be infertility, pregnancy or miscarriage. Both of my sister-in-laws are successfully pregnant right now (one due in January and the other due in May 2011) so they are very happy while im left behind.
I have two friends who went through IVF.
The first GF did IVF and unfortunately she had an ectopic and lost her only working tube. The other was blocked. They did IVF again 5 months later and she got pregnant. Had her girl in August.
The second GF got pregnant with her first round of IVF.
I just pray you get your BFP for Christmas!
