if you have a daughter - are you planning to / did you pierce her ears?

i'm planning to wait until she is old enough to ask lol. thats what my mom did with my sisters and i. we all got them done when we were about 5 or 6. i just think i would be afraid LO would pull on them too much. some peole find it strange that i plan to wait.

We are waiting until she is old enough to ask for them and take care of them. That is what my mom did with me. Plus we dont want to put the baby through the pain of piercing her ears, there are other ways of accessorizing....

i feel like its selfish for me to cause her pain for my own pleasure.i think its cute as hell, but i also want my baby to be a baby..

We're waiting until they can ask for them. If they're anything like me, they won't care for wearing baubles in their ears. They'd rather accessorize with cute bags and scarves.

I'm going to wait until she's old enough to ask. I think it will be a fun mother/daughter thing to do when she's older, plus I don't want to assume she wants her ears pierced, my bf still doesn't have her ears pierced.

We will be waiting also. It's her body and she will tell me if/when she wants her ears pierced.

I will admit that we learned from past experience with our 7 year old we were talked into getting her ears pierced along with BIL's DD so we took them the same day. The piercing did not bother her she didn't even cry but 6 months latter we started haiving trouble even with 14kt earings so we let them grow up till she was 5 and asked for them herself. For this reason we will wait until the younger two girls get big enough to want them.

yay for bags an scarves!!! im the same way. i rarely wear earrings, and when i do its usually the diamond earrings from my DH or a simple pair of hoops

so it seems like i'm not the odd ball out!! good to know.

we are waiting. i have had major issues with getting my ears pierced. i had to have my bottom holes re-pierced 3 times before the holes would even stay open. plus i tried 2 different times to get my cartilage pierced and both times had an infection so bad my ear swelled up over the earring. it was terrible. i have no intention of putting my LO through that. if she wants it when she gets older i will let her but definitely not doing it now.

We're waiting until she can ask. I got mine done when I was like, 6, and we made a whole day of it. I went with my grandmother and then she took me out to a nice lunch like I was a "big girl". I thought it was a nice, rite of passage" kind of thing.

She isn't going to get the until she is at least 12 and even then she has to ask for them.

Thank you! We went to a "Hip Hop Harry" birthday party last weekend and they had those silly things as favors. I just HAD to. There was nothing she could do to stop me.
