We just swtched DD to this to help with reflux and her last two poops have been hard as a rock. Anyone experience this? I'm guessing she is constipated? What do you do for this?
When DS switched to soy he was constipated too. We rode it out and two weeks later he is having softer poops. Per our pedi's suggestion, we helped him with warm baths, a well-lubed rectal thermometer at every diaper change (to help him bear down and push things along), and bicycles.
We just put DS on rice cereal in his soy formula today (for reflux, too) and I was chatting with my girlfriend who's daughter had reflux -- she said the rice made her constipated so they cut it with oatmeal cereal and that helped. Just food for thought!
We use the Enfamil AR as well. Our pedi suggested that we give DS 1 oz prune juice once a day to help with the constipation. 2 oz at the most. So far 1 oz once a day keeps him pretty regular. But anytime it gets hard like that we will add the 2nd oz into his next feeding.
