anyone elses LO constantly beg food off you

I feed Lo in her high chair. Then she'll start throwing ffod and playing with it, so I think fine you're not hungry.

Then the minute I start eating, she wants what I have. I don't have any problems sharing my food, and I generally eat child friendly food when she's around so it's easy to share with her, but it makes me think I'm not reaidng her cues right.

I mean is she hungry or not?

She just ate half of my toast, and I'm sure would have eaten more if it hadn't run out.

Re: anyone elses LO constantly beg food off you

  • Yes and I'm not sure what it is either.

I know for my DS just b/c he's throwing food doesn't necessarily mean he's finished.  MOst times playing means he's finished.  But sometimes he seems to "take a break" and play a bit then get back down to business.

No matter how much or how little he eats, it's rare when he doesn't want whats on our plates if he finishes before us.  He *always* wants what we have so if we want to eat something we don't want him to have we usually wait until he's out of sight or bed/nap time.

The one thing I'm trying to teach DS is that food throwing = end of dinner for him and no more food.  I don't mind playing on the tray, but throwing gets the tray taken away automatically.

  • yep in my experience get used to it! DS always begs for whatever we have on our plates even if he is not interested in what is on his own. Sometimes he gets it sometimes he doesn't it depends what it is. Sometimes even if the exact thing is on his plate he wants the one in our hands or on our plates.
