2nd Trimester

f/u: halfway there/dont feel pregnant

Turns out I DO have an anterior placenta, like someone suggested here. I barely feel movements from my baby. And today my midwife confirmed an anterior placenta with a fetoscope. We had a hard time finding a heart beat, but ultimately did. And our team green baby has a heart rate of 150 bpm.

Hope I feel my baby more soon!

Thanks! I'm glad I know now too.

Hey, unrelated to anterior placenta.. When did you find out you were having twins? And did you have a gut feeling that you were? Or were you totally shocked?

  • We found out at 11 weeks. That's when our 1st visit was due to insurance. It was a shock to us because twins don't run in either family :) Since I was a kid my family and then my friends used to joke about us having twins.

The only sign I can possibly think of is the amount of weight gain I had. At 9 weeks I had to buy a pair of jeans 2 sizes larger than I am. Also I made eggs 2 weeks in a row and got 2 yolks out of 1 egg. Maybe that was a little sign but I didn't think about that part until after finding out.

Lol. The egg thing is sorta' funny. But I HAVE heard of that specific thing happening to women who are having twins. I only had a dream in first tri that the two yolks in one egg happened to me. Not in real life. =/

BUT, I CANNOT shake the feeling that I am having twins. I DO have them on my side of the family. I won't be having ultrasounds (unless medically necessary) because I see a midwife for home birth. So, since we've confirmed AP, and it's hard enough to find a heart beat, I sometimes wonder if there ARE two in there. At the same time, I am measuring exactly where I should be. I guess it would be unlikely.

Again, this is a crazy feeling I've had since the beginning, and I've had dreams. (Although this determines nothing, really.) Just wanted to see how you felt with yours! Congrats!
