Overwhelmed....

So we are going forward with testing, and while it is nice to have some kind of a plan and get some answers possibly, it is so overwhelming to me with the planning and scheduling.

First off, my doc requested CD3 and CD23 bloodwork. Well, I think I O'd at CD13, so CD23 is 10 DPO. Will it make that much of a difference in the test results?

Second, the SA. DH is nervous about this. It is so difficult to get a straight answer about this and the doctor's office don't help very much. We dont mind paying OOP, but I am just trying to find out about insurance and if it covers anything.

Last, the HSG makes me nervous. I think we got the insurance figured out - yeah for a flex spending account for the deductible, but I am not looking forward to this.

Sorry, I just needed to vent.

7-10DPO is fine for prog b/w. Don't worry about the HSG, it is over pretty quickly and it could give you valuable info about your ute!

It is overwhelming - just know that you are not alone with all of this. 

I wouldn't worry about the progesterone testing either - it will just confirm that you ovulated and what your levels are.  And its much easier than all the vials you have to give on CD3 b/w.

Thank you so much ladies for your kind words. I am feeling better about it. I was able to talk to the doctor's office about the SA and 1 of the ones we were referred to does take our insurance, so we will only have to pay the co-pay. Woo-hoo for some good news!

I guess I am just so overwhelmed because this is all so confusing and new to me. I am a person who likes to research and know all the facts, so I am just trying to "learn" all about this stuff (unfortunately)...

Hi there! I know I wrote something earler, but... try not to sweat it. I've never done cd23 bloodwork so I don't know about that, but the SA is easy.. kind of fun in a way lol. It'll give you really good information about what you're working with. And only having to pay the copay is awesome!

And again, for the HSG.. honey I can't tell you how scared I was. I mean.. I was flipping out. you can read my blog if you don't believe me. My husband almost left the room last night I was being so crazy. And I went in there today and it was nothing. Now I know not everyone's experiences are like this, but I was nervous because even paps hurt and I bleed. for some reason.. she put the speculum in, and I didn't feel the catheter going in. I didn't bleed, I didn't feel the dye.. I am not even embelishing - I literally felt nothing but the speculum and I could tell something was happening when they did the cleaning, but it wasn't even uncomfortable. Let me know if you have any questions. I want to provide positivity because I was ready to jump out the window before mine lol.

Thank you so much WLW for sharing your story with me! I have kinda resigned myself to getting the HSG done - I actually am kinda curious to what everything looks like and if all is well.

As for the SA, I am worried for DH. I hope he doesn't have troubles since he is kinda under pressure for it. Hopefully it wont be a big deal since you have to abstain for 2-3 days beforehand - so he should be good to go.

We still haven't decided if we will do the SA at the office or drive the sample there. The office is about 30 mins away.

When my DH got his SA done I was terrified. At the time, he had no testosterone, and we couldn't even... you know (sorry.. being juvenile due to work computer stupid rules). So I was like.. OK.. my husband is a wimpo about this stuff AND he has a physical issue. He did it at home to tke some of the pressure off, and it actually worked. I think YH would be fine. I think a lot of times getting them over the "I have to do this" hump is the big deal. And having the option to do it at home should help immensely. I'm not sure MH could do it at the doctor still. But if he can do it, YH can!! *HUG* You'll be fine hon. I don't get on here too much because sometimes I get pretty depressed about my a-hole kidneys, but if you need me let me know.
