FYI-Traveling babywearers

It used to be that you'd probably be able to go through security with baby in a soft sided carrier or moby but TSA has changed their policies.  The carrier now needs to go through the x-ray.  So, either you take the carrier off, put it through, and carry baby through x-ray or you wear them through x-ray and then you take the carrier off, it goes through x-ray and you both get patted down (I don't know why but I've been given that as an option several times).

yup - we just experienced this as well. such a bummer to take off a quiet sleepy baby.

when we traveled at Thanksgiving I was expecting this. But I think the giant carseat that needed a pat-down (it was too big for the x-ray) threw them off. I did not have to take him out of the beco and we were not patted down nor were we x-rayed other than the metal detector.

I think it depends on your agents. 

also it was 6am.

Absolutely, as with all things TSA it's all variable.  I asked the 1st agent and he said we didn't need to remove Q, then I was all ready to go through x-ray they told me I had to take him out.

In the last 5 years, I've never been allowed to wear either of the boys through security.  I've always had to put the carrier through, which is one major reason I never wore a wrap to the airport

we leave Saturday.  Thanks.  Not how I hoped to spend Q's 1st Christmas but it is what it is.

Interesting...I've worn DS a few times through security and haven't been asked to take him out.
