Ring sling question from a newbie

I see from the post below that ring slings are pretty popular for breastfeeding, and I'd also like something that's a little more "poppable" than my sleepy wrap. I'd like to try a RS and was looking at Sleeping Baby Productions to start. My question is how long a basic RS like this will be comfortable. My daughter is 7 weeks and 12 lbs. Thanks! I don't post much, but I love lurking on this board and have learned so much.

Re: Ring sling question from a newbie

  • I use mine most often of my carriers right now, DD is right around 18 lbs.  She prefers to be on my hip so she can see everything and while I wouldn't wear it an extended period of time (more than an hour or two) it's great at the mall or grocery store.  It got to the point she was hanging her head back constantly in the Ergo trying to get a better view and the RS is easiest for a quick and fairly comfortable hip carry.

  • I had a sleepy and I wanted something poppable and easier for nursing -- I love my SBP RS! I now use the sleepy for long walks with the dog or when I am trying to calm her using a sort of "on body swaddle" -- and the RS for everythign else -- errands, running around the house, etc.
