Cloth Diapering

Laundry Favorites Poll!

We live in a condo and just bought our first washer and dryer. The main reason we're finally getting our own is so I can CD and I'm so excited! I've read all about CD safe detergents but I just want to see what your favorites are :)

3. Dryer balls (where you bought them, what size, how many):

    1. Detergent for CD:  Planet.  We use the liquid now since we have hard water.

    2. Detergent for LO's clothes:  Leftover planet powder from when we had soft water with ecover fabric softener.

    3. Dryer balls (where you bought them, what size, how many):  i don't use them yet.  I need some.

    4. Diaper pail deodorizer:  n/a

    5. Extras (RnG ammonia, biokleen, etc.):  I spray diluted biokleen on really bad poop diapers.

    6. Pail & liner:  Step trashcan from wal mart and a planet wise liner.

  • K...so LO isn't here yet, but this is what we have set up/planned

    1. Detergent for CD:  Planet powder, although AZ has hard water so we may switch CD detergent to Rockin Green

    2. Detergent for LO's clothes: Planet powder

    3. Dryer balls (where you bought them, what size, how many): No dryer balls, we're just going to line dry, gotta take advantage of AZ weather :-)

    4. Diaper pail deodorizer: none

    5. Extras (RnG ammonia, biokleen, etc.): although if it gets super stinky we may do the vinegar addition

    6. Pail & liner: bought a 13 gal trash can from target and put a planet wise diaper liner in it for home, we also have 2 of the planet wise wet bags for when we are out and about

  • 1. Detergent for CD: RnG Classic Rock

    2. Detergent for LO's clothes: Seventh Generation Delicate Care

    3. Dryer balls (where you bought them, what size, how many): I'm in the process of making my own wool ones. We have rubbery nubby ones and I hate them.

    4. Diaper pail deodorizer: RnG pail deodorizer.

    5. Extras (RnG ammonia, biokleen, etc.): Ecover fabric softener for any fitteds that might be getting a bit on the not-so-soft side. It revives them so well! But its not to be used on anything with PUL. I use it on some of our regular laundry too.

I use vinegar in a Downy ball in our regular laundry. It works as a fabric softener and gets things extra clean.

Those are the only "extras" I use.

    6. Pail & liner: We use hanging wetbags. I got custom XXL ones my Monkey Foot Design on Etsy. They are fab!
