So Ho ho ho! Had another HSG this morning and was talking to my Dr. about our IUI for this month and it looks like I will ovulate around Christmas Eve or Christmas Day so I asked her if they would be available to do it. She said of course there would be an on-call Dr. I said that there just wasn't anything I could think of that would be more festive than get into the stirrups on Christmas morning. She laughed and said that if I conceived it could make a great story.
So, the question is with house guests, (my parents), for the holiday and well, it actually being the holiday would you go in on Christmas Day or would you just not do IUI this cycle and go for it naturally?
We'll probably do it, but just curious,
Sarah

Thanks everybody for responding. Oh, the lengths us infertiles will go even on Christmas Day! There are a few Jewish Drs in the practice so that is probably why they are able to remain open. That and there are always OBs on duty 24/7.
My family does know that we have been TTC forever and that we are upping the game. I guess I just feel a little weird with the whole "bye, see you in a few hours. Mom can you baste the Turkey while I am out getting basted at the Dr?" and while my DH is great, and everyone knows how inseminations work the tought of my parents know exactly when he will be whacking off into a cup is a little odd. It also means that we would either have to lie or tell them immediately if it works, (because my mom would be nosey and calling to outright ask). Since we have had losses we really don't even like telling out parents until we are out of the first tri.
We're going to do it though and laugh through it, and hopefully get our Christmas Miracle!
