numbness in hands?

A friend of mine is 32 weeks pregnant. she is having numbness and a tingle sensation in her hands. Any thoughts?

It's pregnancy related Carpal Tunnel, which is very common. I had it really bad until about 2 months after delivery. My thumbs and the pads under them were totally numb while I was in the hospital and the nurse said it was normal.  It usually is worse first thing in the morning. You also retain a lot of fluid towards the end which doesn't help. The only thing that helped me was a hot shower and letting the water run on my hands.

yes, this.  I had it really bad with #1.   Took several months after she was born to go away even though I was no longer swollen with fluid.

this time around I had it pretty bad 1st & 2nd tri... now it's better for some reason.

She needs to get checked for Carpal Tunnel, it will know only get worse, and the sooner she can get it treated the less it will be uncomfortable, It also becomes highly painful and can lead to complete weakness in the hands.

 I had carpal tunnel before i feel PG and am still waiting on a EMG Study then it will take about 3 weeks for me to get my op done then another 6 to 12 weeks recovery, so i hoping they get there act together.

I got that with my first pregnancy, toward the end.  Went away after the baby came.
