Much to my horror, all of the work I put in to DD's 1st birthday party was for nothing. It was supposed to be a huge, snowflake themed party. 50 people RSVPed and we reserved a big room at my mom's apartment complex. It turns out that the snowflake theme was appropriate. Yesterday dawned with 7 inches of snow on the ground and more coming in what would eventually be the snowiest December day on record (17 inches in our area). We couldn't reschedule because my parents flew in from CA just for this. Every single person except DD's grandparents canceled. In the end, it was just us, our parents and DH's grandparents. That's ok. DD didn't know the difference. She had just as much fun showing her pretty tutu off to 10 people as she would have 50. It breaks my heart that she was denied the big celebration that we tried to give her but she won't remember it. We'll never forget it though!
Re: A blizzard ruined DD's b-day party
I can understand being disappointed. Anyway to reschedule a more low key celebration in a few weeks?
