Some general input on our names please

I'm not really looking for advise because these are pretty set in stone, but I'd just like a general opinion

is Daniela a family name?  Otherwise I'd opt for a different middle name, it's kind of a dud.

I've gotten a lot of Twilight-ish aversion to Esme from family as well, but that isn't why we chose it. I'm really not even a fan of the series or movies. It came from DH wanting to use the name Esmeril from Esmeril Racing car parts.. blech. It's a pretty name but a bit strange to name our daughter after a brand of car parts So I shortened it up to Esme because that would probably be her middle name anyway. And Daniela is a family name from my uncle Daniel who died shortly after birth. It's a running tradition in our family to kind of incorporate him into the naming somehow. 

I do appreciate the feedback ladies!! I thought I'd explain my choices a bit though!

ETA: Screw Twilight. The hype will (eventually) die down and no one will ever again associate Isabella, Edward, Jacob, Rosalie, Alice, Esme, etc. with Twilight. I can't wait.

I like Ian David a lot! Esme Daniela doesn't have the same flow, though I like the names individually.

LOVE Ian David! I've always loved the name Ian, and David is DS1's middle name after my dad, so I love that as well.

even before Twilight I though of Esme sounded like it came from a fantasy story. Even if it weren't the name of a vampire I would definietly think of a fairy or a witch or something...

I like Ian David a lot though.

They're both very nice names. I know a little boy named Ian, and I think it's great on him. Esme is very pretty, too.

you are naming your daugher after racing car parts?

No.. hence shortening the racing parts name to Esme. I liked the sound of Esmeril, but was turned off by it knowing where it came from. DH was set on it because he is a car fantasizer and thought the name was pretty but I put a stop to it and shortened it to Esme, which we both like.

Ian David goes well together, but I have never been a fan of Ian.

I don't like Esme at all and I didn't even know the Twilight reference like other pp have mentioned. Daniela is cute.
