Anyone's LO lost their voice/gone horribly hoarse?

DS got horribly congested friday night and it hasn't gotten better. Nasal aspirator with saline drops don't help, sitting in a hot steamy bathroom doesn't help. He can only sleep in the inclined crib for an hour, if that. We've got the humidifier going and everything. Then today he got horribly hoarse and sometimes only a squeak comes out:( This happened to anyones LO? Any other tips/suggestions. Would you take them to the pedi or give it some more time? He has no fever and a little cough.

DS does this sometimes. It usually goes away after a day or so. He is always congested so we just deal with it periodically. Good luck!

Thanks. DS is congested a lot of the time too and has had 3 colds, but it's never been in his head this bad and made him lose his voice. I figured there is nothing the pedi can do:( I hate it when they are miserable!

Hi Kim!  Back in the end of August, Kayleigh lost her voice for a day or so and developed a cough .  I ended up bringing her to the pedi and they eventually diagnosed her with Bronchiolitis.  She had to be put on a nebulizer every 4 hours for about 6 weeks.

I would definitely call the pedi and see what they say.  Hope Clole is feeling better soon.

Aww! Poor Kayleigh! I will definitely call in the morning and see what they they say. He is so miserable and pathetic!
