My Mom wants to get D a periodical for Christmas.
I think it's a great idea but I don't know much about them.
Of course I remember Highlights from my own childhood so I'm leaning towards that but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for periodicals for a kid in the 4-5 age range?
TIA!

Another Hi 5 lover here. DD has been getting them for over a year now and still gets excited every time they come in the mail.
I've also heard good things about National Geographic Little Kids/Kids magazines.

ds#1 gets "Your Big Backyard" from Nat. Geo. He loves it. Every time the mail man comes he asks if he's gotten another magazine. I actually enjoy it myself and have learned some pretty interesting things about different animals I'd never heard of.
For example ever heard of a spittle bug? Well, we learned it "poops" bubble to protect itself from predators. Ds of course thought that was hilarious.
