I have never felt worse or been more upset. My MIL was holding Nattie while we were watching the football game. Now you assume it is common sense when there is a baby you can cheer, but keep it a little lower than normal, right?
Touch down, loud screams and clapping and cheering with a house full of people and not one of them gave a damn that my poor child was screaming bloody murder in my MILs arms who was also screaming and cheering so loud she couldnt hear.
I snatched my baby and ran into another room to calm her down. Her whole body was shaking and she was scared crapless. She has never been scared yet (that I know of) and I wasnt ready for it yet. I am trying so hard to be nice to these people right now... But at the moment I have little respect.
Re: baby meet fear..
It's almost like common sense no longer exists! It's one thing if your child is old enough to find their cheering amusing or fun, but when she is only a month old... C'mon.
I'm sorry she get so scared. MIL's are scary people.

Kmeek, this made my day!
And seriously! My DH does the same thing during the soccer games so that me and Isy are refined to the upstairs quarters to keep her from having people yell in her ears!
hahahaha THIS.
That stinks! You'd think people would know better, but then again... it's sports.
The first time DD ever got scared was because she face planted right into DH's teeth and really hurt herself. For the next 30-45 minutes every time she even looked at DH she screamed bloody murder. I felt kinda bad that the first time she was ever scared, she was scared of daddy.
I've scared R once too, I felt horrible. I was playing with him and went to kiss his noise and accidentally shocked him... Needless to say, he was a little slow to react, but then screamed like I've never heard him scream before (he's a relatively quiet baby). He seemed like everything was resolved in his little mind, but then he would scream some more. Sad day.

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

She was trembling, it was awful. They all talk LOUD anyhow. Really, loud enough I get a headache every sunday. And more annoying they talk over each other. You cant finish a sentence before someone cuts in and totally changes the subject.
In the house I grew up in this is considered rude.
hee hee! My dog scared the crap out of DD this morning. It wasn't even like she was barking at anything, poor Katy had her lip quivering and everything. You could do what I did and put them all in the dog house :P
