i froze my first bag yesterday.. wooo hoo!! but how many oz do you put in each bag?? and do u lay them down or stand the bags up?? i have the lansionsh bags.. TIA xo
i've only done 2 bags so far. and i did 4 oz each. my supply isnt great and its been sooo tempting to take them out of the freezer! but i need to start a stash.
I usually put between 2-3 ounces in each bag. J is only eating about 3-4 ounces each feeding so if she is still hungry after 3 oz then I heat up a 2 oz. I stand mine up also.
Sometimes it's okay to follow. (Picture is a clicky)
oh ok.. i filled up the bag 6 oz.. how long after thawing do u have to use that milk?
4 hours
It's good for 24hours after thawing if it is kept in the fridge. OK for 4hrs out of the fridge. These are the rules we go by in both NICUs I work in (I'm an RN).
I have a large variety of sizes frozen. 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, and 4. She eats 3 oz at a time now. At your baby's age, she was eating 2 so I was freezing that amount. I guess I make the variety bc I can always put 2 sizes for 2 bottles (like now I'll grab a 4 and 2 when I'm away).

Our hospital says the same. I put no more than 6 oz in each bag cause thats what the bag recommend if you are freezing. I lay mine down cause they take up less space that way.
Babywearing, cloth diapering, formula and breastmilk feeding, still can't believe I'm a mom, momma to my little man, two furbabies, and two angel babies.
