Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

If your toddler rolls / toddler bed advice?

How do you keep them from rolling out so much in a toddler bed.

Tonight was our first night & DS did okay *knock on wood* but watching him toss and turn before passing out he almost rolled out but caught himself. any tricks to keeping him from rolling out?

This is the style bed he has

  • DS has this exact bed and DS fell out a few nights.. but he got used to it... a ocuple of times i found him sleeping in the middle of the floor.. but he was fine. I put a body pillow at the side of his bed just incase he does fall out.. but it bothers me and doesnt bother him at all. Its something they get used to

  • Two words:  Crash Mat.  DD was a mover,  the only thing we could do was put crash mats (aka giant ugly stuffed mermaid pillow given to us by a random person and a bean bag chair).  DD has fallen out of bed a couple of times but the mats do their jobs.   Pillows and a comfortor on the floor would work well too.

  • We have a body pillow there so I guess fingers crossed he will just learn.

He did one big flop when we were getting him to laydown where im pretty sure he stood up and fell over the side bar needless to say he didnt land on the body pillow but he settled after that so who knows if he will fall out anymore...

    Thanks ladies!

  • you could always put the mattress on the floor if the pillows dont work.
