NT scan tech hurt me!

I had my NT scan yesterday - everything looked great!  However, the tech was pushing SO HARD on my belly.  At one point I made a noise and she said, "I know I'm pushing hard, I'm sorry!  Just know that this isn't hurting the baby at all!".  I'm sure she knows what she's doing...but I'm sort of worrying.

Anybody else experience this?  Maybe I'm just being a super worry-wart right now...

The same thing happened to me!! I was laying there shaking trying to hold the discomfort in when he asked  if I was ok. I just told him that the pressure felt uncomfortable and he said I know, I'm just trying to get a good picture of their necks to make sure I get the right measurements.  My sister had come with me and even she was telling me that he was pushing really hard on my poor tummy!!

Yep, with DS the tech had to push really hard to get the right measurements.  I felt totally beat up the next day

And yes, DS is completely fine.  Just remember that LO is well protected by layers upon layers of your body, the placenta and fluid

Yes, it was very uncomfortable for me too.  I still feel sore from this morning

I remember mine was pushing a bit and kept asking me if I was ok or if it hurt.  I told her to push as hard as she needed to to get good pictures!  But yeah I think when they're little maybe they need to get as close as possible for good pics?

The only pain I had was from my FULL bladder. She kept commenting how full my bladder was getting. The last 5 minutes of the scan, I couldn't even pay attention - I was just praying she was almost done so I could pee Sorry it was so rough.

You girls are the best!  Thank you for the reassurance!  It's nice to know we're in this together!  :-)

I am an u/s tech, and the pushing will definitely not hurt the baby. Pushing helps create clearer images, but if it causes you pain (not just discomfort) you should speak up. Sometimes we get a little carried away

My bladder was too full and she let me empty it (thank god). It was squishy the poor baby! Once I emptied it, the baby was wiggling around everywhere, so it was easier for her to get the measurements. It was funny, after I got to pee.

yep. At one point she was jamming it into my pubic bone!

She was jamming it so much that you could even see it pressing a bit on the baby. She was trying to make the baby move and blamed it on "the way my uterus is". She really wasn't too much of a peach but I am glad she was able to get her job done and get the measurement.
