J and I will be making our register in the next month or so and I'm pretty overwhelmed. I've read Baby Bargains and gone to both Buy Buy Baby and BRU to test out models but it's still a really tough decision.
What stroller do you have/recommend? Doesn't matter if it's a travel system, carrier and stroller separate, etc.
Also, I'll probably be asking questions re: products for the registry frequently in the near future, so please bear with me.
Re: Need stroller recs
I ABSOLUTELY agree with BB on this one. Don't buy a stroller now!
Get a frame your infant carseat can snap onto. It's light and compact and easy to maneuver (and they're cheap...you can get them super cheap on CL and they've barely been used)
Use the snap n go for the 1st 6 months or so until lifting the carseat with the baby in it is too heavy. By that time, you'll know 1) How you're using a stroller...are you going for lots of walks around the neighborhood, are you shopping, etc and 2) what's important to you in a stroller...weight, storage, size, maneuverability and you'll actually know enough to buy a stroller that will meet your longterm needs.
(We have the city mini and I really like it)

We were going to do this until my aunt offered to buy us our stroller now. Like I said, we haven't really used it yet, but it fits great in my car (Toyota 4-runner) and it's easy to fold and pick up, etc.

We got a Graco travel system and love it. The stroller is the only one we have and can be a bit bulky on occassion, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. It goes with our style, and E loves it. Because of the reclining back, We were able to put E in it as an infant without using the carseat, just recline it all the way until she could sit up.
Here were my criteria (and still are): Can I get into the basket underneath the seat when the seat is laying all the way down (e.g. when you're using the infant seat or when the child is reclined/sleeping). How big is the basket? Will it hold my diaper bag and/or other necessary/needed items? Can I easily push it with one hand because inevitably there will be a day when your toddler decides s/he doesn't want to ride and you'll have to carry him/her while pushing the stroller (many times while they're screaming/throwing a fit). How heavy is it? Can you easily pick it up and put it in your trunk? Does it have a tray for the kiddo? (I could only go places with Ryan for about a year if I bribed him with snacks). Does it have a cupholder for me? And does my water bottle fit in it (one of mine strollers won't accommodate and the other will).
And then finally - where will you be using it? The mall? Trails? Sand/gravel? Camping? Jogging? etc.
All that said, I started out with a Graco infant seat and the metro lite stroller. Both were absolutely perfect for us. The metrolite was/is lighter than the travel system and it was a bit easier to steer. The basket is huge...the sunshade is decent...and it's easy to breakdown.
When we started TTC for #2, I scored an amazing deal on a Phil and Teds with the doubles kit on CL. I love that stroller too. It's much easier to maneuver, it's comfy for the kiddo, and I can take it off-road. That said, it DOES'NT have a tray for Ryan, the basket is virtually unuseable with the doubles kit, and the sunshade isn't very big.
All that said, they are two very different strollers. I love my graco for the mall and just running around town. I love the P&Ts for places like the pumpkin patch, anywhere that I might need a second seat, etc.
Good luck deciding! It's hard. Your best bet is to hit a specialty baby shop (not a chain) and talk to some of the really knowledgeable folks there (we have Goore's in Sacramento).
We had the snap and go for the infant stage, which was nice, car seat snaps into stroller.
I have a Graco deluxe, which I like, but its heavy and harder to lug around and I have a McLaren unbrella stroller, but I think you can't use BOTH of these until baby is 6 months.
I'm adding
I like my city mini (and I bought the tray and parent basket so I have a place for my stuff) but I find it hard to get to the basket and my diaper bag doesn't fit in the basket. Also, it is a LITTLE harder to fold with the tray (and I'm assuming that would be the same with the carseat adapter)
We love our City Select by Babyjogger. The main reason I registered for it is because you can add on the 2nd seat if/when LO #2 comes along without having to buy another stroller. It's got the carseat adapter as well as the bassinet/pram option too.
I love this stroller and get asked about it all the time when we are out. Highly recommend!
